Wilton EMS Open house
National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, which is being held May 17-23, is designed to publicly recognize the life-saving work provided by more than 750,000 EMT's, Paramedics and first responders and the crucial role these individuals perform in pre-hospital emergency medical care to millions of Americans each year. Their dedication and commitment is highlighted in this year's national theme, "EMS Strong." Whenever lives are at stake, Paramedics, EMT's and first responders provide urgently needed medical care to residents and visitors throughout the Towns of Wilton and Greenfield. Often, the training and skills of our EMS professionals mean the difference between life and death. EMS Week also features special events and forums that seek to educate the public as well as attract potential recruits interested in public service professionals dedicated to helping others. In partnership with EMS Week events, Wilton Emergency Squad, Inc. will be holding an open house for the public on Saturday, May 16th from 10 - 4. Staff will be on site to explain how EMS functions, demonstrate equipment, conduct child safety seat inspections and provide hands on CPR education. The Saratoga County Sheriffs Office will be in attendance between 11 - 2 with their Safe Child Program. This program consists of photo identification and finger printing of children.
