Polo by Twilight
A Saratoga Springs summer tradition "Polo by Twilight," the annual Palamountain Scholarship Benefit - will take place Tuesday, July 28, at the Saratoga Polo Field, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The annual Skidmore College event marks its 36th year as a key fundraiser for scholarship aid this summer, and also serves as a tribute to Anne Palamountain, founder of the benefit, who died Jan. 24, 2015. The evening will offer a gourmet dinner, live and silent auctions, and a polo match, with the two teams competing for the Palamountain Cup. All proceeds from the benefit go to the Joseph C. and Anne T. Palamountain Scholarship Fund, created to honor Skidmore's fourth president and his wife for their 22 years of leadership. Joseph Palamountain served as Skidmore president from 1965 to 1987. The scholarship benefit was launched by Anne Palamountain in 1979, and she presided over the event and played a key role in its planning for 35 years. The Palamountain Scholarship Fund is one of Skidmore's largest sources of endowed scholarship support, with a value of $6.2 million. Over the years, more than 300 scholarships to academically talented Skidmore juniors and seniors have been supported by the fund.
