Part Time Retail Sales Team Member

Work with one of the friendliest retail teams in town at two of Saratoga's must stop shops! Impressions of Saratoga and The Dark Horse Mercantile are hiring!

Job Summary:
Team oriented environment requiring independent thought and problem solving skills, responsible for the day to day operations of a retail gift and souvenir store. Each team member will need to be creative, self motivated, be respectful of others’ creativity and always place the customer first.  Managing part-time staff by example – have a positive attitude and work ethic. Help maintain an enjoyable, supportive team work environment and be willing to assist co-workers as projects come up. We all do a little of everything here!
 
Bring fresh and new ideas to the business to keep it up to date and progressing by continually monitoring the retail market for new and hot trends. Keep up on implementation of existing ideas to maximize sales and service.  Be mindful of customers’ suggestions and for what they are requesting so we can identify new products and also phase out old.  Improving the customer’s positive experience to maximize sales to our existing customer base and brainstorming for ways to reach new customers is our number one priority.
 
Requirements:

• 3-4 day work week for most of the year, including weekends and evenings, except during seasonal periods and special events
• Additional hours available during thoroughbred racing season and holidays as needed
• No vacations July 4 through Labor Day
• be available to cover gaps due to illness or last minute conflicts in the schedule as needed
• previous experience in retail preferred
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
